In released experiments, intraperitoneal administration of ketamine at doses better than 40 mg/kg induced vacuolation in neuronal cells of the posterior cingulate and retrosplenial cortices in adult rats, similar to what has long been claimed in rodents administered other NMDA receptor antagonists.
